What is this?
TLDR: A digitial garden is a place on the Internet to share thoughts, updates, ponderings, etc. Old school web style. Kinda like a blog.
Inspired by Brian after he shared the concept of a "digital garden" and proceeded to set up his own page. See his description here: https://garden.briancher.in/meta/on-blogging/what-is-this/
A few points that I liked:
But a digital garden has an emphasis on a few things:
- Posts don't have to be perfectly polished - they can be incomplete or in-progress at any given moment
- Posts aren't viewed as untouchable pieces of work - they can be changed and updated over time
Some additional thoughts on why I'm doing it this way
Why not social media?
Why "Free-range Elliott"?
This was the name I came up with for an Instagram account where I was making posts for/with friends while I traveled post-college. The free-range moniker was supposed to refer to adventuring around outside before the corporate office grind. I thought it had a decent ring to it too!
